One of LeRoy's mission companions called today (he also lives in Rexburg) and teased LeRoy about being a chiropractor. We were a bit confused until he told us to look in the Madison phone book yellow pages. Sure enough, there we are.

So if electrical work doesn't pick up soon around here . . .
We have been very concerned about work since it started to really slow down last November. We currently have no jobs lined up, all the contractors that we have worked with are out of work as well and most of them have filed for seasonal unemployment. We have also had to lay off 3 of our 4 guys, which was very hard as employers and also their friends, knowing that no one else is hiring. LeRoy (and one apprentice) just go on faith from day to day hoping that small repairs come in, and so far they have.
Our Relief Society lesson today was taken from Elder Wirthlin, "Come What May, and Love It" and one of his suggestions was to "learn to laugh". We've been so stressed about work that I even thought during class, "how to we just laugh at this?". Well, the answer is in the yellow pages. It doesn't fix anything but it did give us a laugh.
I know that things will work out (in all of our struggles, not just the finances):
somehow
eventually
and for our best good.

"How can we love days that are filled with sorrow? Don't . . suppress discouragement or deny the reality of pain. Don't . . smother unpleasant truths beneath a cloak of pretended happiness. I do believe that the way we react to adversity can be a major factor in how happy and successful we can be in life.
If we approach adversities wisely, our hardest times can be times of greatest growth, which in turn can lead toward times of greatest happiness.
Adversity, if handled correctly, can be a blessing in our lives. We can learn to love it. As we look for humor, seek for the eternal perspecitve, understand the principle of compensation, and draw near to our Heavenly Father, we can endure hardship and trial. We can say, "Come what may, and love it."

that is pretty funny! :)
i hope things pick up for you, i can't imagine how hard this is...but, I too believe things will pick up and get better...for everyone!
What a huge error on the part of the phone book people. Ya, I'd be way frustrated, like this floor that is never going to get done. At what point do we get something back though. Do I start discounting this guy since it's already been twice as long as we were told it would be? Do you demand a refund for an add that was put in the wrong place? Maybe if I felt compensated for my frustration? Sorry guess that came out as a huge WHINE!
I really do like the talk and it makes sense. At least that's how I look back on the whole medically necessary Christmas visit. I'll keep trying anyway.
Sorry about the lack of work...I bet LeRoy is about going bananas without a full 70 hour week!
I am sure things will pick up for you guys!
I can just see LeRoy sitting in his chiro office all day waiting patiently for his next appt to come in. HA! Love it!
Thanks for the talk sum up. I hope someday I can learn to love the adversity. I think laughter is the only way I make it through some days, so it's a good thing I have a silly husband and siblings, and friends that can make any situation seem funny.
