Most kids are in trouble when they hear their full name. Not mine. LeRoy started this game with the kids when each of them were about 2 or 3. He hollers out their full name and when they timidly respond he says lovingly but firmly, "I Love You!". They would always catch on fast and as soon as LeRoy would call out their full names they would quickly blurt out, "I love you" before their dad could. (Unfortunately, when I call out their full names they are most likely in trouble).
The most recent child to pick up the game is Nathan. I frequently hear, "Nathan Darden Edwards, I love you" followed by hugs and giggles.
The other day Nathan came marching into the kitchen, put both hands on his hips, tilted his head in what I thought was disgust and said firmly "Mommy Darden Edwards, I Love You!".

I know I've said this before, but I really hope my boys are so very much like yours. Any advice on how to train them to be Momma's Boys?
I like that "I love you" game. Unfortunately, Logan already knows that the full name means trouble. And Korben doesn't even get that he has a middle name yet, so neither one would work very well right now. It's something to think about though...do I really want my kids to hate their middle names because it is only used in anger? Hmmm....
Oh my heck! He is a constant source of funny to me! Thank you so much for blogging this!
And I think I will try to start this game with Landon. Right now he knows he's in trouble when he hears the full name, but maybe I can change that with this new fun twist on it. Thanks for the idea! Glad to see you're life is still full of cute boys, laughter, and classic movies. :)
I love it! I'm so excited to have a boy. Oh that he is like yours.
